Here are some more wonderful covers from film magazines of the 20's and 30's. When I get these magazines, they often show their age with stains, tears, creases, fading, etc. I always clean them up before posting, as I have done here. However, I have left (for now) the June 1931 New Movie Magazine cover unretouched so you can see what I see before it goes under my Photoshop knife. To make up for the cover, I have included a number of inside pages, including a spread on swimwear our female readers may want to consider for this summer. Enjoy.

Fantastic covers! I simply love that mirror photo of Carole Lombard. How stunning is that?
On a side note, am I the only one who finds the Olive Borden cover slightly creepy?
I'm so excited to see the Bessie Love cover. I just watched The Broadway Melody and she's too cute! I love the beach fashions, too. Great stuff!
Amanda- the Olive Borden cover is a bit creepy
These are just great. Love the Stanwyck cover. How interesting that the style was to use photos for the interior content, but use illustration for the cover.

Amazing finds, I particularly love the Lupe Velez cover.
Still waiting for a magazine of our time to come up with a retro cover that will nearly match those.
I mean, its unbelieveable how much time it must have taken to design a piece of art like this.
hey Sydney based mobile freelance hair and makeup artist providing service for film, television, wedding makeup, advertising, corporate, events and specializing in bridal makeup. they are amazing....
Gloria Stuart's cover is simply stunning. Most people know her as Old Rose in James Cameron's "Titanic" but young Gloria Stuart could be a more than stunning Rose than Kate Winslet any day!
